Born in Kyoto, Japan, she immigrated to Denver Colorado and began her piano studies with Nell Weinwright. Ms. Sasaki received her Bachelors in Piano Performance from the University of Denver-Lamont School of Music, under the instruction of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.du.edu\/lamont\/AliceRybakbio.html\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Alice Rybak<\/span><\/a>. Her success in Colorado led her to study abroad in London with one of England&#8217;s foremost pedagogues, Benjamin Kaplan. Ms. Sasaki continued her studies at the Manhattan School of Music, earning a Masters degree in Piano Performance in the studio of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msmnyc.edu\/catalog\/facbio.asp?fid=1008173077\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Jeffrey Cohen<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0 Ms. Sasaki has won numerous awards, such as the Allied Arts Scholarship for Foreign Study, the Frederic Chiu Sponsorship for Deeper Piano Studies, and the Bernstein Crossman Scholarship for Foreign Study.\u00a0 She was also a winner of the Lamont School of Music&#8217;s Concerto Competition, and as a 2005 winner of Artists International&#8217;s Special Presentation Award, Ms. Sasaki gave her New York City Debut at Carnegie Hall in April, 2006. \u00a0In 2008 Ms. Sasaki performed in solo recital as Mu Phi Epsilon-NYC Alumni Chapter\u2019s Distinguished Artist. As both a soloist and collaborative artist, Ms. Sasaki has played in master classes with pianists Vadim Monastirsky, Eugene Skovorodnikov, Mariann Abraham, Victor Rosenbaum, Fabio Bidini, and Frederic Chiu. She has attended the Colorado Boulder Festival, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.summitmusicfestival.org\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Summit New York Festival<\/span><\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.goppisbergermusikwochen.ch\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Goppisberger Musik<\/span><\/a> in Switzerland, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ikif.org\/press.aspx\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">New York International Keyboard Festival<\/span><\/a>, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.emergingartistseries.com\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Notes at 9000<\/span><\/a> Festival in Winter Park, Colorado. Ms. Sasaki often performs as a soloist, and frequently performs as duo artist with cellist Erich Schoen-Rene specializing in contemporary repertoire.\u00a0 Currently living in New York City, Ms. Sasaki maintains the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akikosasaki.com\/fortepianostudio.htm\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Forte&gt;Piano Studio<\/span><\/a>, is the founder and co-director of Musical Explorers, and is on faculty at the Larchmont Music Academy.
